The Peace competition supports peace initiatives taking place in London between the 9th and 16th of September and globally on the 21st September 2007.

The Week of Peace was launched in Haringey in September 2001 as a response to local community safety concerns, including gangs and gun crime, anti social behavior and youth crime. It takes place from the 9th to the 16th of September.

The International Day of Peace initiative follows a UN resolution in 1981 and provides an opportunity to individuals, organisations and nations to carry out practical acts of peace on a shared date, the 21st of September each year.
