the Spiral peace challenge

Wanting Peace

Marie Coyles

(over 22)

Peace is fighting to cease

Peace is harmony in our hearts

You never want to part

Tears are shed

Bitter words are said

People inflict pain to one another

Here and afar

Peace is the answer we pray

It would make it a better day

How many people's lives are lost

We should be tender and soft

Homes, one has to flee

Oh. can they not see?

Peace is what we need

lets sow the seed

We are sister and brother

Love one another

Why live in pain

It is so insance

Peace is the key

Can they not see.

The Spiral Poetry for Peace Competition 2007 is now closed. Over 350 entries were received, and the winning poem will be used as the theme page for a new interactive online peace campaign designed by Bluhalo, one of UK's leading digital design and build agencies. The winning poem will be annouced on the 21st of September. In the meantime, check out these poems which we thought were worth mentioning. We will be uploading poems daily to this section, so come back often to read the poems and celebrate Peace through Poetry.
