Heaven in two thousand and seven
Laura Blakley
(age: 17 - 21)
When we switch on our telly what is it we see?
War,again and again causing death and poverty.
The gift of life is taken away in one quick flash and for what but mere oil, territory and cash.
It is a beautiful world,a breath taking sight so let us appreciate it by giving up this fight.
Let us stand united with the opposing land And replace the fighting by shaking their hand.
Afterall we are all under the same sun in the sky we all laugh, love, dream and eventually die.
The only thing we should be fighting for in 2007 is love over hate and smiles over tears...wouldn't it be heaven?
Really though what is war really achieving?
All i see is sadness, pain and grieving.
...One day though into the sky we will set the dove free
And turning to each other smiling we'll say
'There is peace in our century.'
