the Spiral peace challenge

A Day of Peace

Gael Bage

(over 22)

In a troubled culture

born of fear, I ask why

we don't cooperate

and give peace a try.

Each war is a trap,

glorified in our head,

seems we won't give up

till all are dead.

If peace resides

within each heart

it tears all thought

of war apart

Fight your anger,

let aggression cease

and make every day

-a Day of Peace

The Spiral Poetry for Peace Competition 2007 is now closed. Over 350 entries were received, and the winning poem will be used as the theme page for a new interactive online peace campaign designed by Bluhalo, one of UK's leading digital design and build agencies. The winning poem will be annouced on the 21st of September. In the meantime, check out these poems which we thought were worth mentioning. We will be uploading poems daily to this section, so come back often to read the poems and celebrate Peace through Poetry.
