Society's Cry

(age: 17 - 21)

I got issues I need to address, issues I need to get off my chest;

Something that ignited, then it went away;

Now it's reoccurring hitting harder than a plague;

This violence is holding our youths hostage;

Backtracking to bondage;

I've seen potential success stories get blinded by the lights;

Their lives have been jaded by unnecessary hype;

First they were angels now it ain't long for them to pay for, being a victim of a trapped decoy;

I know it's grieving,

I'm trying to find reasons;

Praying to my Master,

looking for answers;

Coz it's mindboggling how this guy wants that guy deceased;

this kind of confusion's got me scratching my headpiece;

I watch their innocence come to closures;

So drawn to violence, like Scarface posters;

Why this burns me?

Coz it's such a shame to see Home turn to tragedy,

So let's rebuild our home and not let violence defeat:

And reintroduce that vital ingredient:

Peace!
